A directional spotlight for facades and features
The Faro Alfa is a compact outdoor projector that brings a clean, modern shape to exterior walls. Its cylindrical head sits on a slim adjustable arm, letting you aim a focused pool of light exactly where it is wanted. The look is minimal and purposeful, a quiet piece of engineering rather than a decorative flourish, which is why it settles so easily against contemporary and traditional buildings alike.
This version comes in a deep dark grey, an anthracite tone that reads almost charcoal against render, brick or timber. The matt finish keeps reflections down in daylight and helps the fitting recede into a wall or fascia once the light is doing the talking. If you are matching downpipes, window frames or other dark exterior metalwork, this is the finish that disappears into them rather than standing apart.
How it works
Alfa is built around an integrated COB LED rated at 13W, producing a warm 3000K light that flatters planting, stone and render without the cold cast of higher colour temperatures. Because the LED is built in, there is no separate bulb to buy or replace. The head adjusts through 90 degrees horizontally on its knuckle joint, which locks off with a knurled collar so your chosen angle stays put through wind and weather. The body is die cast aluminium with a transparent glass lens over a faceted reflector, and it is designed for wall mounting on the included round base plate.
This is a mains powered fitting, so it needs wiring in. Moonlight Design recommends installation by a registered NICEIC electrician.
Where it works best
As an adjustable projector, Alfa is at its best when it has a job to do: grazing light down a textured façade, picking out a specimen tree or shrub, washing a section of garden wall, or throwing a controlled beam across a terrace or driveway. Mount it high on a house wall to cover a porch or side passage, or lower to accent a border. It suits gardens, courtyards, patios and entrances where you want directional outdoor lighting rather than a broad flood, and the discreet dark grey body means it looks considered by day as well as after dark.
Design and origin
Alfa is part of the Faro Barcelona collection. Faro's outdoor ranges are built around weather resistance and integrated LED technology, and Alfa reflects that approach in its sealed die cast housing and warm, efficient light source.

Questions People Ask
How far out from the wall does the Faro Alfa project?
The Faro Alfa extends 180mm out from its 95mm diameter base plate, giving enough reach for the adjustable head to be angled and locked away from the wall face when aiming at a nearby tree, shrub or section of facade.
How wide is the beam from the Faro Alfa?
The Faro Alfa has an 80 degree beam angle, giving a reasonably wide spread of light rather than a tight, narrow spot, so it works well for grazing a wall or washing a border rather than pinpointing a single small object.
What does the IP65 rating mean for the Faro Alfa?
IP65 means the Faro Alfa is fully protected against dust and against water jets from any direction, so it can be mounted in a fully exposed outdoor position, not only under a porch or overhang.
Can the angle of the Faro Alfa be changed after installation?
Yes. The head adjusts through 90 degrees horizontally on a knuckle joint and locks in place with a knurled collar, so the aim can be set on installation and angled again later if planting or features in the garden change.
