A slim up and down glow for exterior walls
The Aday 175 is a compact exterior wall light with a clean, contemporary look. Its slim horizontal body has softly rounded ends and open apertures at the top and bottom, so light washes both up and down the wall to create a quietly architectural effect after dark. It is a discreet fitting that adds shape and shadow to a façade without dominating it, well suited to modern and minimalist exteriors.
The dark grey finish and this size
This version comes in a dark grey, almost anthracite, die cast aluminium body with an opal glass diffuser at each end. The muted grey tone recedes against render, brick and timber in daylight and reads as a subtle band of colour rather than a feature in its own right, which is exactly what you want from an up and down wall light. At around 17.5cm wide and 9cm tall this is the smaller, neatly proportioned option in the Aday range, easy to mount either side of a door, along a run of wall or in pairs without overwhelming the surface. It is also offered in white and in other sizes, so you can keep a consistent look across a scheme.
How it works
Lighting comes from an integrated LED rated at 13W, which emits a warm light and has its driver built in, so there is no separate bulb to buy or replace. Being a fixed LED, the light source is sealed within the fitting for the life of the product. It runs on a standard 220 to 240V mains supply and is designed to be surface mounted onto an exterior wall. Because it is a hardwired mains fitting, Moonlight Design recommends installation by a registered NICEIC electrician.
Where it works best
The Aday 175 is made for outdoor settings such as garden walls, terraces, patios, porches, entrances and along pathways and driveways. The upward and downward beams make it a natural choice for lighting a façade, framing a front door or adding rhythm to a longer boundary wall. It is a good fit for anyone wanting understated exterior lighting that looks considered by day and comes into its own at night.

Questions People Ask
Is the Faro Aday 175 bright enough to light a path on its own?
The Faro Aday 175 produces 787 lumens from its integrated 13W LED. That output suits it well as an architectural accent that washes a wall with light rather than as a primary path light, so it works best alongside dedicated path or bollard lighting if you also need to light the ground.
What does the IP54 rating mean for this fitting?
IP54 means the Faro Aday 175 is protected against dust and against water splashing from any direction. That makes it suitable for an exposed exterior wall, garden wall or terrace with no canopy overhead.
Can the Faro Aday 175 be dimmed?
No. The Faro Aday 175 has a fixed integrated LED with no dimming function, so it runs at a constant 787 lumens of warm 3000K light whenever it is switched on.
What does the IK10 rating mean in practice?
IK10 is the highest impact resistance rating on the standard scale. The Faro Aday 175's die cast aluminium body and glass diffusers are built to resist knocks in exposed outdoor spots such as gateways and boundary walls.
