Choosing Your Finish

The smoked glass here takes the edge off the light and gives the shades a dark, almost charcoal tint when unlit, which pairs naturally with the satin black frame. If you'd rather have more light coming through, the same Farnley pendant is also made with clear or amber glass, and the frame itself comes in brass and polished nickel as well.

How It Works

This fitting carries 56 G9 lamp holders, each taking a bulb rated up to 10W, with bulbs sold separately. Fit dimmable G9 lamps and it will work with a compatible dimmer switch. It's Class I electrically, so an earth connection is needed at installation. The IP20 rating means it isn't protected against moisture, making it suitable for dry indoor rooms only, not bathrooms or similarly damp spaces.

Where It Works Best

Because of its IP20 rating, this pendant is meant for dry rooms, a living room, dining room, bedroom or hallway with enough height for the tiers to hang comfortably. It has an adjustable drop from 90cm to 500cm, so it can be set up for anything from a fairly standard ceiling to a much taller space.

The construction itself is simple, a metal frame carrying a run of small glass shades, but the tiered layout and the sheer number of shades give it real scale as a ceiling feature.
