Coloured Light From Tiffany Glass
The 30cm Tiffany shade in this fitting is made from hand cut glass pieces assembled together, each one catching and filtering the light to create a soft, diffused glow in warm amber and cream tones. Two E27 bulbs sit inside the shade, letting the colour show to best effect while still delivering useful light across the room. It's a statement pendant that works as both a light source and a visual focal point.
Choosing Your Finish
This pendant comes with an amber and cream Tiffany shade, a combination that sits warmly in most interiors. The shade itself is the dominant visual element, so the frame which supports it is relatively understated, allowing the glass work to be the star of the show. The tiffany aesthetic tends to suit traditional and transitional spaces particularly well.
How It Works
Two E27 lamp holders hold GLS bulbs up to 60W each, giving you plenty of light output when you need it. The fitting is Class I wired, requiring an earth connection. Dimmability works beautifully with this piece, as lower light levels let the colours in the Tiffany glass show more subtly, while higher levels give you a warmer, more cheerful glow throughout the room.
Where It Works Best
At 30.5cm diameter, this shade has presence without overwhelming most spaces. It works well over a dining table, in a living room where you want a cosy focal point, or in a bedroom where the soft coloured light creates a gentle atmosphere. Being IP20 rated, it's for dry indoor use only. The downlighter design means light is directed downward as well as through the shade, making it practical for task lighting as well as ambient effect.
Design Details
Tiffany glass is created by hand selecting and cutting pieces from coloured glass sheets, then assembling them into a pattern using lead came or copper foil. This traditional craft technique means each shade has individual character, with the way light passes through dependent on the thickness and tone of each glass piece. The result is warmer and more naturalistic than factory etched or painted glass.

Questions People Ask
Why is tiffany glass more expensive?
Because each shade is individually made, cut and assembled by hand rather than cast or moulded in a factory. The labour involved and the quality of the glass all contribute to the price, but you're paying for craftsmanship and uniqueness.
Will the colour fade if the light is left on constantly?
Tiffany glass is designed to withstand exposure to light without fading, though like any coloured glass it may show subtle changes over many decades of use. This is part of the natural ageing process rather than a defect.
Can I change the colour of the shade?
No, the shade is an integral part of the fitting and is not interchangeable. If you prefer a different colour, we may have other Tiffany shade options available in the range.
