A Neutral Shell With Textured Depth
The opal glass in this pendant reads as soft and neutral, then catches the light as the shade moves and the angle shifts. Vertical ribbing adds visual texture without colour, letting the surrounding room take the lead in the design conversation. Hung on its chain with an antique silver frame, this is a fitting that sits gracefully in almost any interior.
Choosing Your Finish
Antique silver is a cool, understated metal finish that works across the spectrum of interior styles. It doesn't push an aesthetic one way or another; instead, it lets the glass and the room define the look. Other metal tones are available in the same Springfield pendant style if another finish would coordinate better with your existing metalwork.
How It Works
The single E27 lamp holder inside the shade gives you freedom to select your own light quality. The opal glass diffuses the light evenly without heavy colour tinting, making it ideal if you want the bulb's natural warmth or brightness to shine through. Class II electrical standards apply, eliminating the need for an earth connection. Use dimmable bulbs with a compatible dimmer if you want to adjust brightness on demand. As an IP20 rated pendant, it's strictly for dry indoor settings and must be kept away from water exposure.
Where It Works Best
Kitchen islands and dining tables are obvious choices, but this pendant works just as well in a hallway, bedroom, or study space where you want focused light with a hint of visual presence. The 20cm diameter makes it suitable for kitchens of any layout without overwhelming tighter spaces.
Design Details
Opal glass and iron combine to create a fitting that feels minimal while maintaining personality. The vertical ribbing creates texture that's visible on close inspection but doesn't demand attention from across the room. The neutral glass means the focus stays on how the light behaves rather than the colour it casts.

Questions People Ask
Is opal glass the same as frosted?
Not quite. Opal glass is semi translucent with a warm, slightly creamy quality. Frosted glass is completely opaque. You can see through opal glass, but softly.
Will this work in a modern kitchen?
Yes. The neutral tone and simple lines mean it suits contemporary kitchens as easily as more traditional spaces.
Does the ribbing mean light comes out unevenly?
No. The ribbing is subtle and the glass diffuses evenly. The texture is visual rather than functional; the light distribution stays consistent.
