One Sharp Sparkle in Bright Metal
A single hanging pendant that pairs polished nickel with prismatic glass, catching the light from multiple angles. Once switched on, the textured surface of the shade fragments the bulb's glow into countless tiny points of light, creating something more visually interesting than a plain glass shade could manage.
Choosing Your Finish
Polished nickel is a brighter, more reflective finish than satin versions, working especially well in contemporary spaces and in rooms that get plenty of natural light. The same pendant is available in other metal finishes across the Maida range if you'd prefer a different tone to match your kitchen or dining room.
How It Works
One E27 bulb (not supplied) mounts behind the prismatic shade, which scatters the light outward rather than sending it straight down. The fitting is wired to Class I, which means an earth connection is needed during installation. You can suspend it anywhere up to 130cm below the ceiling, letting you adjust the height to suit your furniture and room proportions.
Where It Works Best
Hang this over a dining table, kitchen island or in a living room where you want a focal point that's both functional and interesting to look at. The prismatic glass creates visual texture that makes the light feel less like a basic utility and more like a design element. It works alone or as part of a wider scheme that includes wall lights or floor lamps.
Design Details
The prismatic surface is more than just pretty; it actively helps distribute light more evenly than a smooth shade would. The polished nickel reflects light as well as transmitting it, adding another layer of visual interest. The overall effect is sophisticated without being precious or difficult to live with.

Questions People Ask
How does prismatic glass differ from frosted?
Prismatic glass has a textured pattern that looks like tiny pyramids, creating sparkle and visual interest. Frosted glass is smooth and opaque, giving a softer, more even light. Both scatter light well, but prismatic has more shine.
Would this work in a minimal interior?
Yes, it would be fine. The prismatic detail is subtle and the polished nickel is clean lined, so it doesn't fight with minimalist decor even though it has more visual character than a plain shade.
Can I use this over a kitchen counter?
Yes, it's suitable for kitchens and will give good task light combined with ambient interest. Just make sure to hang it at a height that doesn't obstruct your view across the counter.
