This single shade pendant puts all the visual impact on a 30cm Tiffany shade of hand cut blue and orange glass, suspended from a simple matt black bar. The glass pieces form a dragonfly pattern with occasional crystal inserts, and the small scale works in any room without dominating the space. Matt black keeps the structural frame as minimal and neutral as possible, so all the character comes from the glass.

How It Works

One E27 bulb holder holds a standard GLS bulb of up to 60W, with bulbs sold separately. If you install dimmable bulbs and a compatible dimmer, you can adjust the light to suit your preference. The fitting meets Class I electrical standards, meaning an earth connection is required during installation. IP20 protection is limited to dry indoor use, and the shade should be kept away from moisture or direct water spray.

Where It Works Best

A single pendant of this size works in bedrooms, living rooms, dining areas and hallways where one focal point of light is enough. It's equally at home in a small room where a larger fitting would feel cramped, or in a larger space where you want light without visual heaviness. Hang it at roughly 65 to 75cm above dining furniture, and adjust lower or higher depending on ceiling height and how the light falls.

Design Details

Each Tiffany shade is made by hand, with individual pieces of coloured glass cut to shape, wrapped with lead foil, and soldered together. The blue and orange combination is vibrant when lit from behind, with the colours appearing to glow. The lead lines between glass pieces become part of the design aesthetic, adding a pattern layer on top of the glass colour. Iron and aluminium in the simple matt black frame provide structural support without any ornamental detail.

Questions People Ask

Will one bulb be bright enough?
One 60W bulb or equivalent LED gives sufficient light for most pendant positions. If you need more brightness in a large room, you could hang two pendants instead, or use a higher wattage dimmable LED.

How do I clean the glass?
Dust it gently with a soft cloth. For stubborn marks, use a barely damp cloth and dry immediately to prevent water spots.

What happens if one glass piece cracks?
Sadly, Tiffany shades are not repairable if the glass breaks. That said, the construction is robust and the glass is well protected inside the lead framework.
