Two Discs of Light on a Chrome Stand
Holly stands tall on a polished chrome frame, with two acrylic discs taking the place of a traditional shade. Each disc has a rippled, dotted texture worked into the surface, so once the LEDs behind it are switched on, the light comes through in a broken, pixelated pattern rather than one flat glow, and the discs still look interesting even before you turn it on.
Choosing Your Finish
This particular Holly comes in polished chrome, a bright, reflective finish that catches light well and suits contemporary rooms with a lot of metal and glass already in them. Other finishes may be available across the wider Holly range, so it's worth checking if you'd prefer something with a warmer tone.
How It Works
Two 12W LEDs are built into the fitting, producing around 920 lumens combined at a cooler 4000K colour temperature, with a colour rendering index above 80 so detail comes through clearly rather than looking washed out. As the LEDs are integrated, there's no separate bulb to buy. It isn't dimmable, and a foot switch on the base lets you turn it on and off without bending down to a cable. It's wired to Class II standards, so no earth connection is required. With an IP20 rating, it has no protection against moisture and is meant for dry indoor rooms only.
Where It Works Best
Given its height, Holly works well next to a sofa or armchair in a living room, in a reading corner of a bedroom, or lighting up a dining room or hallway that needs a stronger floor level source. As an IP20 fitting, it isn't suitable for bathrooms or other damp areas, so it should be kept in the drier rooms of the home.
Design Details
Holly's defining feature is the pair of textured acrylic discs, which give the light a slightly fractured, sculptural quality rather than the plain wash you'd get from a fabric shade. The frame beneath is built from aluminium, iron and stainless steel, solid enough to keep a tall floor lamp stable underfoot, while the polished chrome surface adds a clean, reflective edge to the overall shape.
