It's wired to Class I electrical standards, so an earth connection is required as part of installation. The IP20 rating means it's designed for dry indoor areas only.

Yes. It works both ways—you can hang it as a pendant for a lower look, or remove the chain and mount it directly to the ceiling rose if height is limited or you prefer a more compact appearance.

How bright will it be?
That depends on the bulbs you choose. With six bulbs at 20W each, you have plenty of scope to go brighter or dimmer to suit your space. If you use LED candle bulbs and a compatible dimmer, you'll have complete control over the light level.
