How It Works

The LED here is integrated into the fitting rather than a separate bulb you can swap out, running at 8W and putting out around 440 lumens at a warm 3200K colour temperature. It isn't dimmable, so it's simply on or off, and it's wired to Class I standard, meaning it needs an earth connection as part of installation. With an IP20 rating, it's intended for dry indoor rooms rather than bathrooms or anywhere damp.

Where It Works Best

Hawksmouth works well fitted in pairs either side of a mirror or bed, or spaced along a hallway wall where you want a bit of ambient glow rather than direct task lighting. It also suits a living room or dining room as an accent piece. Being IP20 rated, keep it away from bathrooms and anywhere that gets wet.

Design Details

The design leans on the contrast between the matte satin black frame and the gold ring it holds, made from a mix of aluminium, iron and silicone. The deliberately uneven angle at which the ring sits within the frame gives it a sense of movement that a straight, symmetrical wall light wouldn't have.
