Fabula Epsom E27 Table Lamp with Linen Shade - Polished Nickel & Taupe Wood

A Woven Linen Shade on a Bright Nickel and Timber Frame

The first thing you notice on this E27 table lamp with a linen shade is the weave. Up close the fabric has a visible, slightly irregular texture that gives the drum a relaxed, natural feel. Underneath, honey toned taupe wood slats and polished nickel metal make a tall, angled frame. The lamp is 69cm tall with a 40cm wide shade, so it is a sizeable piece for a table top.

Choosing Your Shade

There are five linen colours. Black is dramatic and dark. Cement is a pale, cool grey, and Duck Egg is a light, soft blue. Oyster is a creamy off white, and Sandstone is a warm, sandy beige that suits the timber slats well. The linen weave stays visible in all of them, which gives a more casual look than a smooth fabric. The shade is supplied with the lamp. Epsom also comes with a satin black and dark grey wood base, and with faux silk, satin, translucent, two tone velvet and velvet shades.

Shade Options and Specifications

How It Works

The lamp takes one E27 lamp. It can be dimmed if you use a suitable dimmable lamp with a dimmer, as the listing states. An inline switch turns it on and off. This is a Class II fitting with an IP20 rating, so it is for indoor use only.

Where It Works Best

Linen has an easy, lived in feel that suits a living room with natural textures, such as rattan, wool throws and pale painted walls. Duck Egg or Cement works well in a calm bedroom, while Black gives a home office desk a graphic outline. Bedroom, living room and office are the rooms listed. Because the weave lets the light through, the lamp gives a soft, textured glow rather than a hard pool of light.

Questions People Ask

What does a linen shade look like compared with silk?
Linen has a visible woven texture, which you can see in our photos, while a faux silk shade is smooth. Linen gives a more relaxed, natural look.

Which linen colours can I choose with the polished nickel base?
Black, Cement, Duck Egg, Oyster and Sandstone. Each has its own SKU in the table above.

How does the linen shade spread the light?
Light passes through the woven fabric, so you get a soft, slightly textured glow across the shade. You do not see the bulb directly.

Can I use a dimmer with this lamp?
Yes, if you fit a suitable dimmable E27 lamp and use a dimmer. The inline switch is for on and off only.

How tall is the Epsom linen table lamp?
The lamp is 69cm tall in total. The drum shade is 40cm across and 22cm deep, and the base disc is 18cm across.
