Three Shades With Subtle Texture
This Epping pendant partners a linear antique brass frame with three flat round shades in patterned clear glass, so light passes through an etched surface rather than plain glass. The pattern catches the eye as light passes through, adding visual interest without being heavy or ornate. Three lights distributed along the bar mean illumination spreads across a long surface rather than pooling in the middle.
Choosing Your Finish
Antique brass gives warmth to the pendant, a finish that suits both modern and traditional kitchen and dining settings. The patterned glass adds character that plain glass lacks, while keeping sightlines reasonably open. If you'd prefer a different aesthetic, plain shade versions of Epping are available in various finishes, letting you match the pendant to your existing kitchen hardware.
How It Works
Three E27 (standard GLS) lamp holders sit behind the round patterned glass shades, each capable of taking a bulb up to 60W. The shade diameter is 30cm, and the pattern slightly diffuses light passing through. Installation requires an adaptor clip, and the fitting needs a Class I earth connection. Dimmable bulbs work if you have a compatible dimmer switch.
Where It Works Best
Above a kitchen island or dining table, these shades distribute light evenly across the whole work or eating area. The patterned texture adds enough visual weight that the pendant reads as a design feature while remaining functional. Suitable for dry indoor spaces, so kitchens, dining rooms and hallways where you want linear light distribution.
Design Details
Patterned glass shades paired with iron and aluminum frame create a pendant with more character than a plain design. The etched surface of the glass catches light in subtle ways, changing appearance through the day. Antique brass is a finish that develops patina over time, warming further as it ages. The overall effect is gathered and warm without feeling fussy.

Questions People Ask
What's the difference between patterned and clear glass shades?
Patterned glass has an etched surface that slightly diffuses light and catches the eye during the day, while clear glass is transparent. Patterned glass shows less dust and fingerprints, making it lower maintenance than clear options.
Will the pattern block much light?
No, the pattern is subtle enough that light passes through clearly. You get good illumination with added visual interest rather than dimmed light.
Can I mix this with other Epping styles?
Yes, Epping comes in various shade and finish combinations, so you could use a patterned shade version alongside a plain shade version if you wanted different effects in the same space.
