A Row of Light in Modern Brass and Glass
Epping pairs a linear metal frame with three matching 30cm flat round clear glass shades, creating a pendant that reads as both contemporary and approachable. The antique brass finish sits somewhere between cool grey and warm gold, offering visual warmth without the heavy appearance of solid brass, and suiting both modern kitchens and more traditionally finished spaces. The three light arrangement spreads illumination along the length of the bar rather than concentrating it in a single point, which is particularly useful above a long dining table or kitchen island where even light distribution matters more than drama.
Choosing Your Finish
Antique brass strikes a balance between polished brightness and matte subtlety, developing a gentle patina over time that adds character without requiring maintenance. This neutral warmth works well alongside stainless steel kitchen hardware or with warmer wood cabinetry. Other finishes are available across the Epping collection for anyone preferring a different aesthetic.
How It Works
Three E27 lamp holders, each rated to 60W maximum, sit inside the clear glass shades. The flat round shape of each shade allows light to spread evenly without creating hot spots or harsh shadows. The fitting is wired to Class I electrical standards and requires an earth connection for safety. Dimmability is available when you use dimmable bulbs paired with a compatible dimmer, which lets you adjust the atmosphere from bright task lighting to softer evening ambiance.
Where It Works Best
The linear design makes this fitting ideal above a rectangular table or along the length of a kitchen island, where a row of light is more practical than a single central pendant. The 120cm length suits substantial surfaces. With its IP20 rating, it's suitable for dry interiors only. The clear glass shades and simple metalwork keep the design visually lightweight, so even in dining rooms or kitchens with lower ceilings it doesn't feel bulky or overbearing.
Design Details
The appeal of linear pendant design lies in its honesty: form follows function, with the bar shape dictated by the need to spread light along a surface. The antique brass frame is sturdy without being ornate, and the clear glass shades are equally straightforward, relying on their simple geometry rather than any applied decoration. This restraint means the fitting works equally well in minimalist contemporary kitchens and in spaces with more traditional or eclectic decoration, because it offers presence without insisting on a particular aesthetic.

Questions People Ask
How high should I hang this above my dining table?
Aim for 60 to 75cm of clearance between the bottom of the pendant and the table surface. This gives enough space so diners aren't looking directly into the bulbs while still keeping the light effective. With a maximum drop of 181.5cm, you have flexibility in how you adjust it.
Can I use different wattage bulbs in each socket?
You technically can, but for even lighting and balanced appearance it's better to use three matching bulbs at the same wattage. The 60W maximum applies to each socket independently.
Will the antique brass develop a patina?
Yes, gradually. The antique finish is designed to develop character over time as it's exposed to air and dust. This is part of the aesthetic appeal. If you prefer to maintain the current finish, occasional gentle dusting with a soft cloth helps slow any patina development.
