Staggered Metal Fins That Play With Light and Shadow

This outdoor LED wall light is built from a row of slim, upright metal fins set at slightly different heights, with a solid section behind them. The light escapes through the gaps at the top and the bottom, so it throws long, striped shadows across the wall after dark. It is the most sculptural of the Chatsworth designs. It measures 14cm wide and 30cm high, stands 7.5cm out from the wall and is rated IP65.

Choosing Your Finish

Anthracite is a deep, soft charcoal that makes the fins look crisp and graphic against pale render or brick. Cacao is a warm chocolate brown that feels softer and sits well with timber, stone and earthy tones. On both finishes a gold toned surface shows behind the fins, which adds a warm glow where the light catches it. It comes in a single size, with two finishes to choose from.

How It Works

Two LEDs are built into the fitting, giving around 900 lumens of 3000K warm white light with a CRI above 80. The light passes between the fins at the open top and bottom. The LEDs are integrated, so there are no bulbs to buy or replace, and it is not dimmable. This is a Class II fitting. We would always recommend having it installed by a qualified electrician.

Where It Works Best

The IP65 rating makes it suitable for outdoor walls. The fins make it a good fit for a feature wall, a contemporary entrance, a terrace or a garden room, where you want the light itself to be part of the design. The staggered edges look best against a plain surface so the shadows stand out. Use a single light as an accent, or two for a dramatic frame around a doorway.
