Endon Twist Floor Lamp - Oak Effect Resin & ZigZag 40cm Pearl Grey Fabric Shade

A Twisted Oak Effect Floor Lamp With A Pearl Grey Zigzag Shade

The Twist floor lamp takes a traditional barley twist column and gives it a lighter, more relaxed feel. The stem is moulded in resin with an oak effect finish, so it has the look of turned wood without the weight or the cost, and it stands on a simple stepped round foot. On top sits a 40cm pleated shade in a pearl grey zigzag print, with soft brown and off white chevrons running through it. At 160cm tall with a 40cm shade, it is a proper full height floor lamp, so check the space before you order.

Oak Effect Resin And A Hand Pleated Faux Silk Shade

The whole base, from the foot to the top of the twist, is resin with a warm oak effect finish that picks up the grain and tone of pale oak. A small antique brass lamp holder sits at the top. The shade is made by hand, gathered and pleated into a tapered shape, from a digitally printed faux silk fabric in pearl grey with a zigzag pattern. The top and bottom edges are taped, and inside there is a plain lining that keeps the light soft and even when the lamp is on.

How It Works

This is a plug in floor lamp, so there is no wiring to do. It takes one E27 screw cap LED bulb up to 10W, which is not included, and it is not dimmable. An inline on off foot switch sits on the natural braided cable, which runs to 2 metres in total, so you can switch the lamp with your foot from the sofa. The stem comes in two parts that fit together, and the shade sits on the lamp holder. The lamp is supplied with a European two pin plug and a UK three pin adapter, so it is ready to use in the UK.

Where It Works Best

The Twist is a floor lamp for a living room, a bedroom or a quiet corner of a home office. Placed beside an armchair or at the end of a sofa, the pleated shade spreads a warm glow that is gentle enough for an evening and bright enough for reading. The oak effect stem sits naturally with wooden furniture and painted cabinets, and the pearl grey zigzag shade adds a touch of pattern to a neutral scheme without shouting about it.

Made By Endon Lighting

Endon Lighting is a British brand with a design heritage of more than 80 years. Its UK based design team likes to combine contemporary influences with timeless decorative styles, and the Twist floor lamp is a good example of that mix, a classic barley twist shape in a modern oak effect resin, finished with a pleated shade in a fresh pearl grey print. It is designed for modern interiors, and it would be at home in a new build as much as a period cottage.
