Endon Twist Table Lamp - Satin Almond White Paint & Zigzag 25cm Cotswold Green Fabric Shade

A Twisted Almond White Stem Under A Green Zigzag Shade

The Twist table lamp pairs a slender rope twist stem in satin almond white with a 25cm pleated shade printed in a Cotswold green zigzag. The print is soft rather than loud, sage green and olive chevrons with white running between them, so the lamp brings colour to a bedside or side table without shouting about it. At 51.5cm tall it is a small lamp, easy to tuck into a corner of a room that needs a lift.

Almond White Painted Resin With A Pleated Cotswold Green Shade

The stem is moulded in resin, which lets the twist run cleanly from the round stepped foot right up to the lamp holder, and it is painted in a satin almond white that sits closer to cream than to bright white. The lamp holder at the top is finished in antique brass, a small warm detail against the pale stem.

The shade is gathered by hand into fine pleats on a tapered frame. The fabric is faux silk, digitally printed with a zigzag that reads as green and white from across the room and shows olive and pale sage tones up close. The top and bottom edges are taped in plain green and the inside is lined in plain fabric, so the pattern stays crisp when the lamp is off and the light comes through softly when it is on.

How It Works

This is a plug in table lamp. It uses one E14 small screw cap LED bulb, which you will need to buy separately, and it is not dimmable. You switch it on and off with an inline switch on the cable. The cable is cream braided, 1.5 metres long in total, and the lamp is supplied with a European two pin plug and a UK three pin adapter, so it can go straight into a UK socket. The base comes assembled, and the shade sits on top of the lamp holder with no tools needed.

Where It Works Best

A 51.5cm lamp with a 25cm shade suits a bedside table, a narrow hall console or a side table beside a chair. The green zigzag works well with sage or olive walls, pale wood and cream upholstery, and it is just as happy adding a bit of pattern to a plain white room. If you want the same look at floor level, the Twist floor lamp with the larger Zigzag shade makes a natural pair.

Made By Endon Lighting

Endon Lighting is a British brand with a design heritage of more than 80 years, and its UK based design team put this lamp together as a pairing of old and new. The barley twist column is a traditional shape, while the printed green zigzag shade is a very current idea. That habit of mixing timeless decorative styles with contemporary influences, and designing for modern interiors rather than period ones, runs through most of what Endon makes.
