Endon Twist Floor Lamp - Satin Almond White Paint & Ikat 40cm Marlin Blue Fabric Shade

A Twisted Almond White Floor Lamp With A Blue Ikat Shade

The Endon Twist floor lamp has a tall rope twist stem painted in a soft satin almond white, standing on a stepped round base. Here it is paired with Endon's 40cm Ikat shade in marlin blue, a hand pleated faux silk shade printed with a bold blue and white ikat pattern. It is a traditional shape with a lively top, and at 160cm tall with a 40cm wide shade it fills a corner without crowding it.

Satin Almond White Resin And Pleated Faux Silk

The base and stem are made from resin, moulded into a rope twist and painted in a satin almond white that reads as a warm off white rather than a bright white. The shade is hand made from digitally printed faux silk fabric in marlin blue, gathered into fine pleats and finished with taped edges over a plain inner lining. When the lamp is on, the pale parts of the pattern glow and the blue stays deep, so the shade looks a little different lit and unlit.

How It Works

This is a freestanding plug in floor lamp. It takes one E27 screw fitting LED bulb of up to 10W, and the bulb is not included. It is not dimmable. There is an inline on off foot switch on the cream braided cable, which runs 1.5 metres from the plug to the switch and a further 0.5 metres from the switch to the lamp, 2 metres in all. The stem comes in two parts that fit together. The lamp is supplied with a European two pin plug and a UK three pin adapter, so it plugs straight into a UK socket.

Where It Works Best

Next to an armchair or sofa, the blue ikat lamp shade gives a reading corner a splash of colour, and the pale twisted stem keeps the look light. It suits a living room, a bedroom or a home office. The almond white and marlin blue pairing sits happily with cream walls, natural wood, linen and painted furniture, and it works in country, coastal and classic English rooms alike.
