Endon Twist Floor Lamp - Oak Effect Resin & Ikat 40cm Coral Pink Fabric Shade

A Twisted Oak Effect Floor Lamp With A Coral Pink Ikat Shade

The Twist floor lamp pairs a tall, rope like twisted stem in an oak effect resin finish with a 40cm pleated shade printed in a coral pink ikat pattern. The stem reads as pale, warm wood and the shade adds a splash of colour above it, so the lamp feels decorative without being fussy. It stands 160cm tall with the shade in place, and the shade is 40cm across at its widest point, so check the corner you have in mind before you order.

Oak Effect Resin And Printed Faux Silk

The stem and the round stepped base are moulded from resin and finished to look like oak, with the barley twist running the full height of the stem. The shade is made by hand from faux silk fabric, digitally printed with a coral pink ikat design in pinks, soft orange and white, then gathered into fine pleats over a tapered frame. It has a plain inner lining and a taped edge top and bottom, and when the lamp is lit the pattern glows gently through the fabric.

How It Works

This is a freestanding, plug in floor lamp. It takes one E27 screw fitting LED bulb of up to 10W, which is not included, and it is not dimmable. An inline on off foot switch sits on the 2 metre natural coloured braided cable, so you can switch it with your foot rather than reaching up to the lamp holder. The stem comes in two parts that fit together, and the shade sits on the lamp holder at the top. The lamp is supplied with a European two pin plug and a UK three pin adapter.

Where It Works Best

At 160cm high the Twist is a good height beside a sofa or armchair, where the shade sits just above eye level when you are seated and throws a warm, coloured light down over the seat. It also suits a bedroom corner or a reading nook in a home office. The oak effect stem and pink ikat shade go well with neutral walls, pale wood floors, boucle and linen upholstery and a few other pink or terracotta accents around the room.

Made By Endon Lighting

Endon Lighting is a British brand with a design heritage of more than 80 years, and its UK based design team is behind the Twist. The range combines contemporary influences with timeless decorative styles, which is exactly what is going on here: the barley twist stem is an old idea given an easy to live with oak effect finish, and the coral pink ikat shade brings a current print to a classic shape. It is designed for modern interiors that still like a bit of warmth and pattern.
