A Fluted Brass Backplate And A Warm Apricot Zigzag Shade
The Dahlia Curve wall light takes its name from the round, scalloped backplate, which fans out from the centre like the petals of a dahlia. A slim brass arm sweeps up and out from the middle of it to hold a 16cm pleated shade printed with a zigzag pattern in apricot orange and white. It is a traditional antique brass wall light in shape, but the shade gives it plenty of warmth and a bit of fun.
Antique Brass With A Printed Faux Silk Shade
The backplate is hand crafted from solid cast steel and given a brass patina finish, so the ridges catch the light and the recesses stay a little darker, much like a piece of old brass that has been handled for years. The curved arm is steel in the same antique brass tone and ends in an authentic brass B22 lamp holder.
The shade is handmade, with gathered pleats and a tapered shape. It is cut from digitally printed faux silk in an apricot orange zigzag, with taped edges top and bottom and a plain inner lining. Lit, the orange glows through the pleats. Unlit, it still brings a block of colour to the wall.
How It Works
This is a hardwired, wall mounted fitting rated Class I. It takes one B22 bayonet LED bulb of up to 7W, which is not included. It is dimmable when paired with a dimmable LED bulb and a compatible dimmer switch. The shade is packed in its own box and sits over the lamp holder once the wall bracket is fixed in place, so there are two boxes to open.

Where It Works Best
The fitting measures 19cm high and 16cm wide, and projects 25.5cm from the wall. That makes it a bedside or accent light rather than a main source of light for a room. Try a pair either side of a bed, a single one over a console in a hallway, or two flanking a chimney breast in a living room. The apricot orange shade looks especially good against warm white, cream and sage green walls, and next to oak or walnut furniture.
