The base and stem are steel with an antique brass plated finish, a soft gold tone that is a step warmer than polished brass and a touch richer than satin. The round base is weighted to keep the lamp steady. Up top, the tapered shade is woven by hand from natural rattan in a light honey colour. When the lamp is on, the weave glows and throws a gentle pattern of light through the gaps, which is a large part of its charm. How It Works

The Arlo is a plug in floor lamp, so there is no wiring to think about. It takes one E27 screw cap LED bulb, which is not included, and it is not dimmable. You turn it on and off with an inline foot switch on the 2 metre black braided cable, 1.5 metres from the plug to the switch and 50cm from the switch to the lamp. It is supplied with a European two pin plug and a UK three pin adapter, so it is ready for a UK socket. The stem splits into three parts that screw together, and the shade rests on the lamp holder.
