This version of the Arlo pairs Endon's slim antique brass plated floor lamp base with the Ayla shade, a hand crafted 53cm cotton shade in vintage white with a gently scalloped edge. The warm brass stem and the pale folded shade make a quiet, classic combination, and the lamp still takes up very little floor space. Antique Brass Plated Steel And Vintage White Cotton

The stem and round base are steel with an antique brass plate finish, a soft aged gold rather than a bright polished brass. The base is a stepped disc that keeps the lamp steady on the floor. The Ayla shade is made by hand from cotton fabric in a colour Endon calls vintage white, closer to a warm off white than a pure white. It tapers outward from a narrow top, and the lower edge is folded into a scalloped wave so that when the lamp is lit each fold catches the light a little differently.

How It Works

The Arlo is a plug in floor lamp, so there is nothing to wire. It takes one E27 screw cap LED bulb, which is not included, and it is not dimmable. You switch it on and off with an inline foot switch on the 2 metre black braided cable, easy to find with your toe behind a chair. The lamp is supplied with a European two pin plug and a UK three pin adapter, so it can go into a standard UK socket as soon as it is out of the box. The stem arrives in three sections that fit together, and the shade sits on top of the lamp holder.
