A Cast Brass Wall Light With A Herb Garden Green Leaf Shade
The Anvil Curve wall light sets a chunky, scalloped cast backplate in antique brass against a slim swan neck arm and a 16cm pleated shade printed with small green leaves on an off white ground. It is the sort of antique brass wall light that suits a cottage bedroom or a panelled hallway, and the herb garden green shade keeps it looking light and current rather than heavy.
Antique Brass Patina And A Pleated Faux Linen Shade
The wall back is hand crafted from solid cast steel and given a brass patina finish, so the surface has the uneven, slightly aged colour of real old brass with no glossy lacquer. A curved steel arm in the same finish sweeps out and up from the centre of the backplate to an authentic brass B22 lamp holder.
The shade is handmade, with gathered pleats and a tapered shape, from digitally printed faux linen fabric in a herb garden green leaf pattern. The top and bottom edges are taped and the inside is plain lined. Lit, the fabric glows a warm cream and the leaves show as soft green shadows. Unlit, the print stays sharp and the texture of the weave shows through.
How It Works
This is a hardwired wall light rated Class I. It takes a single B22 bayonet LED bulb of up to 7W, which is not included, and it can be dimmed when you fit a dimmable LED bulb and use a compatible dimmer switch. The wall fitting and the shade arrive in separate boxes. Once the fitting is on the wall, the shade simply sits over the lamp holder.

Where It Works Best
The fitting measures 19.5cm high and 16cm wide and projects 25.5cm from the wall, so the shade sits well clear of the surface and throws a soft pool of light down and out. Use it as a bedside wall light, in a pair beside a bed or a chimney breast, or on its own in a hallway or on a landing. The green leaf shade looks at home against white and cream panelling, and it holds its own on a warm terracotta or pink wall too.
