The Anvil Curve wall light is a small antique brass wall light with real presence. A shaped cast backplate holds a slim arm that dips and rises in one smooth curve before meeting a 16cm pleated shade in a neutral ikat print. Most of the pattern is cream and blush with soft taupe streaks, so it sits quietly on the wall until the lamp is on, when the pleats warm up and glow.

Brass Patina Casting With A Neutral Ikat Lamp Shade

The backplate is hand crafted from solid cast steel and given a brass patina finish. It is deliberately uneven in tone, with the look of brass that has aged in place rather than a polished shine. Four small screws hold it to the wall. The curved steel arm carries an authentic brass B22 lamp holder, which is itself a nice detail when the shade is off.

The shade is handmade with gathered pleats and a gentle taper. The fabric is a digitally printed faux silk in a neutral ikat design, with a taped edge top and bottom and a plain inner lining that helps the light spread evenly.

How It Works

This is a hardwired, wall mounted fitting. It is rated Class I. It takes one B22 bayonet LED bulb of up to 7W, which is not supplied, and it is dimmable with a dimmable LED bulb and a compatible dimmer switch. The shade comes in its own box and sits over the lamp holder once the bracket is fixed to the wall, so there is a little self assembly but nothing fiddly.

Where It Works Best

It measures 19.5cm high, 16cm wide and projects 25.5cm from the wall. That makes it a bedside or accent wall light rather than something to light a whole room. Try a pair over bedside tables, on either side of a mirror in a hallway, or flanking a sofa in a sitting room. The neutral ikat shade is easy to live with and goes with white, stone and grey walls, and with pink or terracotta accents if you want to pick up the blush tones in the print.
