The Anvil Angle wall light is a small antique brass wall light with real character. A scalloped, quatrefoil style cast backplate holds a plain right angled arm, and on top sits a 16cm pleated shade in an apricot orange and white zigzag print. The brass is quiet and traditional. The shade is anything but. Together they make a wall light that suits a period cottage as happily as a colourful modern flat.

The backplate is hand crafted from solid cast steel and given a brass patina finish, so it carries the gentle mottling and soft glow of aged brass rather than a mirror polish. Four small screws hold it to the wall and the slim steel arm steps up to an authentic brass B22 lamp holder.

The shade is handmade with gathered pleats and a tapered shape. The fabric is a digitally printed faux silk in apricot orange and white, with taped edges top and bottom and a plain inner lining. Switched on, the orange warms and glows through the pleats. Switched off, the zigzag pattern still holds its own on the wall.

How It Works

This is a hardwired, wall mounted fitting and it is rated Class I. It takes one B22 bayonet LED bulb of up to 7W, which is not supplied. It is dimmable when used with a dimmable LED bulb and a compatible dimmer switch. The shade comes in its own box and sits over the lamp holder once the wall fitting is in place, so there is a little simple self assembly.

The fitting is 24cm high, 16cm wide and projects 19.5cm from the wall, so it is a compact accent light rather than a main light for the room.
