A Quatrefoil Backplate And A Plain Vintage White Shade
The Anvil Angle wall light takes a scalloped, four lobed cast backplate in antique brass, adds a short right angled arm, and finishes with a 16cm tapered Ivy shade in vintage white cotton mix fabric. It is a quiet, classic antique brass wall light with just enough shape in the wall back to catch the eye without shouting.
Cast Brass Patina And A Taped Edge Cotton Shade
The wall back is hand crafted from solid cast steel with a brass patina finish, so the surface has the uneven, slightly weathered tone of aged brass rather than a polished gleam. Four small fixing screws sit in the lobes of the backplate and are part of the look. The angular steel arm is finished to match and carries an authentic brass B22 lamp holder at its tip.
The Ivy shade is hand crafted from a vintage white cotton mix fabric with a visible weave, tapered in shape, and trimmed top and bottom with an almond white taped edge that gives a subtle two tone border. Lit, the fabric glows a soft warm cream. Unlit, it reads as a clean off white against the brass.
How It Works
This is a hardwired, wall mounted fitting rated Class I. It takes one B22 bayonet LED bulb of up to 7W, which is not supplied. It is dimmable when fitted with a dimmable LED bulb and used with a compatible dimmer switch. The shade is packed in its own box and sits over the lamp holder once the wall bracket has been fixed in place, so there is a little self assembly.

At 24cm high, 16cm wide and 19.5cm projection from the wall, this is a neat accent light. It is well suited as a bedside wall light either side of a bed, in a pair flanking a mirror or fireplace, or spaced along a hallway or landing. The vintage white shade and antique brass pair naturally with panelled walls, soft greys, creams and sage greens, and look at home in both period and newer houses.
