A clean line of light along the frame
The Winchfield picture light is the shape most people picture when they think of a picture light: a curved brass shade sitting on a hinged arm, held just proud of the wall so the beam clears the frame beneath it. This medium sized version has a slightly heavier arm and joint than the slim antique reproductions, giving it a steadier, more substantial feel on the wall.
An aged brass finish throughout
Shade, arm and backplate all share the same aged brass tone, a warm, softly burnished gold rather than a bright polished shine. There is no lacquer sitting on top of it, so the surface reads as brass that has already settled in, rather than brass trying to look new.
How It Works
Two E14 LED bulbs sit inside the shade, angled down and forward to wash light across whatever is mounted beneath. The arm itself moves at two points, where it meets the wall plate and where it meets the shade, so once it is fixed to the wall you can still tilt the beam to suit the piece you are lighting rather than getting the angle right by guesswork beforehand.
Where It Works Best
It is built for lighting a single painting or a large framed print, and it does an equally good job picking out a run of bookshelves or a favourite piece of furniture. At 44.5cm wide, it suits a medium sized frame or a fairly compact run of shelving rather than an oversized canvas. Aged brass sits comfortably against navy, deep green or plain white walls, in a living room, bedroom, dining room or hallway.

Do I need to buy bulbs separately for the Winchfield picture light? Yes. It takes two E14 LED bulbs, which are not included, so you can choose the exact colour temperature and brightness you want.
Can I angle the light once it is fixed to the wall? Yes. The arm has two hinge points, one at the wall bracket and one at the shade, so you can tilt the beam after installation rather than having to get it right beforehand.
Is the Winchfield picture light dimmable? Yes, as long as you fit dimmable E14 bulbs. Standard, non dimmable bulbs will not dim even on a dimmer circuit.
