The Wilmslow pedestal lantern takes the tapered lantern head from the full size Wilmslow lamp post and sets it on a short, bell shaped stem with a stepped square plinth, so it sits close to the ground rather than towering over a path. It brings the look of a period lamp post to a spot where a full height post would be too much.

Cast aluminium in black

The lantern head, scrolled stem and plinth are all cast aluminium, finished in black, with clear glass set into all four sides of the head. The glass is left plain rather than textured, so the bulb inside is visible through the panels rather than softened by pattern or frosting.

How It Works

Fit a single E27 bulb inside the lantern head. Unlike a full height lamp post, the plinth base is designed to be fixed on top of a wall, pier or gatepost rather than sunk into the ground, so installation is mostly about securing the base plate to a flat surface. It runs from the mains, so we'd always recommend a qualified electrician makes the connection.

Where It Works Best

Because it sits at pedestal height rather than full lamp post height, Wilmslow suits capping a low wall, a gatepost, or either side of a driveway or path entrance, anywhere a full sized post would dominate the space. A pair either side of a gate or porch gives a matched, traditional look on a smaller scale.
