Elstead Wexford Single Pedestal Lantern - Black & Silver

A pillar of light for gates and paths

Standing on its own flared pedestal, the Wexford Pedestal Lantern is a ground level companion to the taller Wexford lamp post, reaching just over half a metre high. It fills the gap between a full height post, which can dominate a small entrance, and a wall light, which cannot mark a driveway or path on its own.

Black and silver finish

The lantern is cast in a deep black with brushed silver picked out across the domed cap, finial and glazing bars, so the metalwork catches the light even before the bulb is switched on. Four bevelled glass panes, each set with a diamond leaded motif, wrap the lantern chamber and soften the light passing through.

How It Works

A single E27 LED bulb fits inside the glazed chamber, with light spreading out through all four textured panes rather than in one direction. The bulb is not included, so you will need to fit one before use, and a dimmable bulb will let the lantern work with a dimmer switch. As a mains wired outdoor fitting, we recommend a qualified electrician handles the installation.

Where It Works Best

Its low, freestanding shape and octagonal foot suit gate posts, the corners of a driveway or the start of a path, particularly set in a matching pair either side of an entrance. It follows the same lines as the wall and chain lanterns in the Wexford range, so it is straightforward to keep the lighting around a house or garden consistent.
