Elstead Wexford Single Down Wall Lantern - Black & Silver

An old fashioned wall lantern on a proper scroll bracket

Rather than sitting flat against the wall, the Wexford Down Wall Lantern hangs from a shaped scroll arm, letting the lantern body drop below the fixing point in the way older coach lanterns used to. It is a small design touch that gives it more presence than a flush fitting.

Finish

The black finish is worked with brushed silver across the scrollwork and dome, picking out the detail on the bracket as well as the lantern itself.

How it works

A single E27 lamp sits behind glass marked out with a leaded diamond on each of the four faces, so the light spreads outward through the textured panes rather than firing straight down the wall.

Where it works best

The scroll arm gives it a slightly wider reach than a flat wall light, which suits a front door, porch or gate post where you want the light to project out a little further. It shares its detailing with the rest of the Wexford lanterns, so it can be paired with a matching pedestal or post light nearby.
