The Torsten trades the traditional lantern shape for a plain, squared off box: a dark grey aluminium frame wrapped around two opal white panels that glow evenly rather than throwing a single hot point of light. It reads as a piece of quiet architectural detailing on the wall as much as a light fitting in its own right.

The frame is die cast aluminium finished in a flat, dark grey that reads close to black in most outdoor light, with clean edges and no decorative moulding to distract from its cube shape. Two adjoining faces are opal white polycarbonate panels, which diffuse the light from the single bulb inside into a soft, even glow across both visible faces rather than a bright point behind clear glass.

How It Works

A single E27 lamp holder sits inside the frame behind the opal panels, and the fitting is rated IP54, so it copes with rain and general weather exposure on an exterior wall (bulb not included). Fit a dimmable LED and it will work on a dimmer switch, running from a low background glow up to a brighter accent; a standard non dimmable LED will only run at full brightness. It is wired for mains use, so we recommend a qualified electrician handles the installation.
