Elstead Taiko 4 Light Pendant - Olde Bronze

True to its name

Taiko takes its name from the Japanese drum, and this 4 light version wears it well: a wide drum shade sits above a dense, asymmetric cluster of crossed steel rods, so the fitting reads as sculpture as much as light source. Add the fourth light to the frame and the rods only get busier underneath, more overlaps, more shadow lines thrown up against the shade above.

Olde Bronze finish

Every rod, chain link and ceiling plate on this size is finished in Olde Bronze, a deep, matte brown bronze tone that reads closer to aged ironwork than polished metal. Above the frame, a wide drum shade in neutral linen is trimmed in a soft taupe band, warming the light without competing with the metalwork below.

How It Works

Four E27 lamp holders sit inside the crossed rod cluster, throwing light out through the gaps in the frame while the linen shade above diffuses a softer glow from overhead, so the fitting glows from two directions at once. Bulbs are not included; fit dimmable LED lamps if you want to use it with a dimmer switch. The chain link suspension is adjustable at installation, so the overall drop can be set anywhere from 42.4cm up to 126.4cm to suit the ceiling height.
