A Tangle of Light

Some pendants keep their engineering hidden, but the Taiko puts it on full display. Lift the oatmeal linen shade of this three light pendant and you find a cluster of rods thrown together at odd angles, like a handful of dropped matchsticks caught mid fall.

Olde Bronze Finish

This version is finished in Olde Bronze, a deep, warm brown with just enough sheen to catch light along the edges of each steel rod. Above the tangle sits a plain drum shade in neutral linen, banded top and bottom in a slightly darker trim, so the fitting reads as calm and tailored up top and wild and sculptural underneath.

How It Works

Three E27 bulbs sit inside the rod cluster, so the light spills out through the gaps in the metal before it ever reaches the shade, then glows softly through the linen itself. The result is a warm pool of light below and a gentler wash outward through the fabric. The chain allows the drop to be adjusted at installation, from around 36.4cm up to 126.4cm.

Where It Works Best

Hang it centrally over a dining table or kitchen island where the underside is on show, or use it in a hallway or stairwell with enough headroom for the drop rod to do its job. It reads equally well against panelled walls or plain plaster.

Questions People Ask

Does the Taiko 3 Light Pendant come with bulbs? No. It takes three E27 bulbs, and we recommend LEDs, but they are not included.

Can I adjust how low the Taiko pendant hangs? Yes. The drop rod allows the fitting to hang from around 36.4cm up to 126.4cm, so it can sit close to the ceiling or lower over a table.

Is the Taiko pendant in Olde Bronze dimmable? Yes, as long as you fit dimmable bulbs. A non dimmable bulb will not dim even on a dimmer switch circuit.

Will the light from the rod cluster show through the shade? Yes. The linen shade is not fully opaque, so alongside the light spilling out below the rods, you will see a soft glow through the fabric itself.
