A bigger presence at the door
The St Martins takes Elstead's classic box lantern shape and scales it up, fitting two lamp holders behind its glazed panels instead of one. The result is a fitting with real weight and presence, built for a porch or entrance that a smaller lantern would struggle to fill.
Aged brass finish
In aged brass, the St Martins has a warm, slightly muted gold tone rather than a bright polish, so the stepped cap, corner posts and glazing bars read clearly in daylight without throwing back glare. The finish is designed to age further outdoors, taking on a deeper patina over time rather than staying pristine.
How It Works
Two E27 lamp holders sit side by side behind clear glass panels, each taking its own LED bulb, not included. Running two lights rather than one gives noticeably more output than a single lantern of this style, useful anywhere a porch or entrance needs more than a soft glow. Fit dimmable LED bulbs and the St Martins works on a dimmer circuit. Some simple assembly is needed on arrival before it's ready to install, and because it wires directly into the mains we always recommend a registered NICEIC electrician handles the fitting.
Where It Works Best
Its scale suits a wide porch, a generous entrance, or a boundary wall or gatepost, anywhere a single small lantern would look lost. It's rated IP44, so it's built to withstand rain and outdoor conditions rather than being limited to a sheltered spot.
Elstead Lighting
The St Martins belongs to Elstead's Olde England range, a collection built around historic lantern shapes rather than tied to one particular house or period. Elstead Lighting traces its history back to The Elstead Forge in Alton, Hampshire, and the brand remains led by the same Lucas family today.

Questions People Ask
How many bulbs does the St Martins large lantern take? It takes two E27 bulbs, one in each lamp holder, and we recommend LED bulbs. Bulbs are not included.
Is the St Martins wall lantern dimmable? Yes, as long as you fit dimmable LED bulbs. A non dimmable bulb will not dim even on a dimmer switch circuit.
Is this lantern suitable for outdoor use? Yes. It's rated IP44 and built in solid brass and glass, so it's designed to be mounted outside on a porch, entrance or boundary wall.
Does the St Martins lantern need an electrician to install? Yes. It wires directly into the mains, so we recommend a registered NICEIC electrician carries out the installation.
