Elstead Somerton Single Wall Lantern - Verdigris

Verdigris is the pale green patina that copper and brass develop naturally over years outdoors, and this Somerton carries that same aged colour across its swan neck arm and shade from the very start.

Instead of the brass tones of its sibling, this finish gives the fitting a soft blue green wash over every surface, so it looks like a lantern that has already weathered a few seasons on a coastal wall.

How it works

The single E27 bulb is enclosed in a sealed glass jar under the broad metal brim, keeping the glow visible while the shade itself keeps rain off the bulb below.

Where it works best

The green patina reads particularly well against white render or pale stone, and suits a coastal or garden setting, flanking a porch, framing a gate, or marking the turn of a path.

Like its aged brass sibling, this design takes its wide brim and rounded arm from the same family as the Sheldon, just finished to look as though the years have already done their work.
