A proper swan neck lantern

The Sheldon has the look of an old railway platform light: a wide, flared brim curving down over a caged glass shade, carried out from the wall on a graceful swan neck arm. It has real presence on a wall without being fussy, the kind of fitting that looks like it has always been there.

Aged brass, warm and lived in

This finish is an aged brass rather than a bright polished one, so the tone is warm and slightly weathered looking straight out of the box, and it will only mellow further with age and weather. The wire cage around the glass adds a bit of industrial character and protects the bulb underneath the broad shade.

How it works

Fit it with a single E27 bulb of your choice (not included). It is IP44 rated, so it is built to handle rain and general outdoor exposure, and being Class I it needs to be wired with an earth connection, as with most solid brass fittings.

Where it works best

At 39cm across and reaching well out from the wall, the Sheldon suits porches, entrances and anywhere you want a generous, welcoming glow rather than a tight spot of light. It pairs particularly well with brick, render or stone where a warm brass tone can really stand out.
