A Ribbed Column With A Bold Topper
The Ripple takes its name from the fine horizontal ribbing that wraps the full height of its column base, a texture that catches the light in narrow bands rather than one flat sheen. Sitting above it, a wide black drum shade in a completely different finish gives the whole lamp a striking two tone silhouette, equally suited to standing on its own as a single statement piece.
White Porcelain Base, Black Linen Shade
The column itself is glazed porcelain in a soft white, finely ribbed all the way round so it reads as texture rather than pattern from across a room. Brushed nickel caps sit at the top and base of the column, adding a cool, contemporary edge against the warmer white below. Above it, a black faux linen drum shade is hard backed, so it keeps its drum shape rather than softening with use.
How It Works
Ripple takes a single E27 LED bulb, which is not included so you can choose the exact warmth and brightness you want. Fit a dimmable LED and it will respond to a compatible dimmer circuit; a standard bulb will simply switch on and off. The hard backed shade directs light both up and down rather than diffusing it evenly on every side, giving a more directional pool of light than a soft, unlined shade would. Wiring is Class I, and the lamp is designed to plug straight into a wall socket and sit on a flat surface, with no installation needed.
