A lantern with an old soul
The Regents Park has a classic half lantern silhouette, its bevelled brass roof curving up to a peak between three ball finials, the kind of shape you would expect to see keeping watch over a front door that has stood for decades. Cast in solid brass and finished with an aged patina, it looks settled in before it is even mounted.
Aged brass finish
The brass is treated to a deep, aged patina rather than a bright polish, so the surface reads warm and slightly weathered rather than shiny and new. A pierced fretwork band runs along the top and base of the case, framing clear glass panels on all four sides so light spreads outward rather than staying trapped behind a single pane.
How It Works
It takes a single E27 bulb, held on a bracket inside the case and visible through the glass from every angle. Fit a dimmable E27 bulb and the lantern will respond to a dimmer switch. The bulb itself is not included. Wiring is Class I, and because this is an exterior fitting we recommend installation by a registered electrician.
Where It Works Best
Mount it beside a front door, over a porch, or along a garden wall where its brass tones and traditional shape suit period and country style exteriors. It is rated IP44, so it is built to handle everyday exposure to rain and damp air in a covered or semi covered outdoor spot.
Regents Park belongs to Elstead's Olde England collection, a series of lantern designs drawing on pre Georgian shapes, so there are companion pieces available if you are lighting more than one spot around the house.
