Rectory takes its cues from medieval ironwork: a pointed shield backplate with a raised panel at its centre, and two scrolling arms that curve out and up to a pair of candle style lamp holders. Nothing about it is machine straight, which is exactly the point.

The whole fitting is worked in wrought iron and finished in a deep, matte black with a slightly rough, hand worked texture across the surface, so it catches light unevenly rather than gleaming. The candle style lamp holders are left in a pale contrast tone, standing out against the dark iron.

How It Works

Two arms carry a candle style lamp holder each, curving away from the central backplate in a loose S shape rather than a symmetrical branch. Each holder takes an E14 bulb, and the fitting will also accept optional GS81 glass shades if you would rather cover the bulbs than leave them exposed.

Where It Works Best

Either side of a fireplace, flanking a mirror in a hallway, or along a run of wall in a dining room with beams, stone or dark panelling nearby. It suits a period property or a room built around a country house look far better than a sleek, modern space.

Are bulbs included with the Rectory wall light? No. It takes two E14 bulbs, which aren't supplied, so you can choose the candle style bulb that suits your fittings.

Can I fit a glass shade over the bulbs? Yes. The backplate is designed to also take optional GS81 glass shades if you'd rather cover the bulbs than leave the candle style holders exposed.

Is the Rectory wall light dimmable? Yes, as long as you fit dimmable E14 bulbs. A non dimmable bulb won't dim even on a dimmer switch circuit.
