Most table lamps just sit there and glow. The Quinto's shade is mounted on an angled joint, so instead of throwing light straight down in a flat circle, the whole cylinder tilts and aims it exactly where you need it, across a page, onto a keyboard, or toward a chair.

The shade, stem and disc base are finished in a bright gloss white, with aged brass picking out the pivot joint and the collar where the stem meets the base. It is a clean, fresh pairing that suits a painted desk or a white bedside table, and works just as well as a single light coloured piece against a darker wall.

How It Works

The shade pivots on a single aged brass joint, so it can be angled up toward the ceiling for a soft ambient glow or down toward a surface for reading and close work. An inline switch sits on the cable itself, so the lamp can be turned off without reaching across to the shade. The broad disc base keeps the whole thing steady if the cable gets caught underfoot.

Where It Works Best

It earns its keep on a desk beside a keyboard or angled toward a chair, where the tilting shade can be pointed at the task rather than lighting the whole room. It also works well on a bedside table, tilted toward a pillow for reading, or on a console table as a warm pool of light rather than an even wash. At just over half a metre tall with a 17cm foot, it leaves room alongside for books, a clock or a charger.
