A jointed old bronze fitting that hangs or reaches from the wall

The Provence Single Wall Light/Pendant is built around a kinked, twin jointed rod finished in old bronze, and unlike the dedicated wall light and pendant elsewhere in the range, this fitting is not locked into one position. Fix it to the ceiling and it drops straight down as a pendant, angle the rod for a lower, more compact hang, or mount the same fitting to a wall instead, so it can work wherever the room actually needs it.

Old bronze, brass lit from within

The rod and cone shade are finished in a dark old bronze that reads close to black in normal light, catching a warmer glint only where an edge or a joint picks up the light. Look inside the shade and the lining flips to a warm brass tone, so once the bulb is on it throws a noticeably warmer glow than the dark exterior suggests.

How it works

Two knuckle joints in the rod let you set this fitting up as a straight pendant with a drop of up to about 123.5cm, or angle it down to a shorter, more compact hang of around 76.5cm with the shade sitting roughly 55.8cm out from the ceiling point. The same joints let it mount to a wall instead, reaching about 76cm out from the wall plate with a drop of around 51.8cm, useful where a ceiling fixing point is not practical. It takes a single E27 LED bulb, which is not included, and wires in as a fixed fitting rather than a plug in lamp.

Where it works best

Hung as a pendant, it earns its keep over a kitchen island or a run of worktop, where one directional cone does more useful work than a wide diffused shade, and it suits a dining table just as well. Mounted to the wall instead, the reach of the arm makes it a workable task light beside a desk without needing a ceiling point directly above.
