Rather than fixing the drop at installation, the Provence pendant is built to move. A gentle pull on the shade lowers it on its cords, and a hidden counterweight brings it smoothly back up when you let go, so the height can change as often as the room needs it to.
Old Bronze
The shade, ceiling rose and the acorn shaped counterweight all share a dark Old Bronze finish, almost black in places with a warm undertone showing through at the edges. A twisted brown cord runs from the ceiling down to the lamp holder, chosen to blend into the finish rather than stand out against it.
How It Works
A pulley wheel is mounted at the ceiling rose, with the acorn shaped counterweight riding on its own pulley further down the cords. Pull the shade down and the counterweight travels up inside the mechanism; let go and the weight of the counterweight brings the shade smoothly back up. Between the two positions, the shade can sit anywhere from 96cm to 180cm below the ceiling, low enough to sit close over a table or high enough to clear the room entirely.
Where It Works Best
It's built for rooms where the same light needs to do two jobs, brought down low over a dining table or kitchen island for the meal, then lifted clear once the table's needed for something else. A single Provence pendant suits a compact table well, and it takes just as naturally to a kitchen island as a dining room table.

How do I raise and lower the Provence pendant? Pull down gently on the shade to lower it on its cords, then let go and the hidden counterweight pulls it smoothly back up. It works on a simple pulley and counterweight system built into the fitting, no chain links or clips to adjust.
How far can the shade travel? The shade moves between 96cm and 180cm below the ceiling, giving roughly 84cm of adjustment to bring it low over a table or lift it clear of the room.
Does the Provence pendant come with a bulb? No. It takes one E27 bulb, which isn't supplied, so you can choose the LED that suits the light output and colour temperature you want.
Is the Provence pendant dimmable? Yes, as long as it's fitted with a dimmable E27 bulb. A non dimmable bulb won't respond to a dimmer switch even if one is fitted.
