Elstead Provence Single Floor Lamp - Aged Brass

A reading lamp that leans in on command

Provence stands on a slim brass column and bends over at two points along its arm, so you can pull the cone shade down towards an armchair or push it back out of the way when you're not using it. It has the look of an old drafting lamp that's been given a proper stand of its own.

Aged brass, top to bottom

Every part of it, the base, the column, both arm sections and the cone shade, is finished in the same aged brass, so there's no mixing of metals to worry about matching to other furniture. The inside of the shade carries the same warm brass tone, which helps bounce light back down rather than losing it upward.

How it works

It's built for a single E27 bulb, wired to Class I electrics. Put in a dimmable bulb and you can dim it from bright task light down to something softer; a standard bulb just gives you on and off.

Where it works best

At 167cm tall with a 34cm base, it has enough height to clear the arm of a sofa or reading chair, and enough weight in that base, at just over 9kg, to stay put once it's positioned. It suits a living room reading corner or a home office just as well as a study.
