Provence Element is built on two jointed arms rather than a fixed stem, so you can walk the shade forward, back or down until the light lands where you actually need it, whether that's over a book, a keyboard or a bedside table.

Gloss black with polished brass detailing

The arms and cone shade are finished in a deep gloss black, with polished brass at each knuckle joint and around the shade collar. Tip the shade up and the inside shows a warm coppery tone that bounces light back into the room rather than throwing a harsh direct beam. The cone shade itself is compact, about 12cm across the opening and 21cm from front lip to back, so it stays in proportion with the slim arms it sits on.

How it works

It takes a single E27 bulb wired to Class I electrics. Fit a dimmable bulb and you can dim it; fit a standard one and it's simply on or off at the switch.

Where it works best

Small and self contained at around 52cm tall, it suits a desk or an office corner just as easily as a nightstand, particularly if you like being able to angle the light away from a bed partner.

Can I angle the shade exactly where I need it? Yes. Both joints on Provence Element's arms pivot independently, so you can walk the shade forward, back or down until it's pointed exactly where you're reading or working.

What bulb does it take, and is one included? It takes a single E27 bulb, which isn't included, so you can choose the brightness and colour temperature that suits you.

Is the Provence Element lamp dimmable? Only if you fit a dimmable E27 bulb. With a standard bulb it works as a straightforward on or off switch.

Will it fit on a small desk or nightstand? Yes. At around 52cm tall with a compact base, it sits comfortably on a nightstand, desk corner or small console without taking over the surface.
