The steel body is plated in polished brass rather than lacquered or brushed, which is what gives the length of the shade and the wall bracket that sharp, reflective shine. It reads as a warmer, more traditional metal than chrome or nickel, and it will pick up small reflections from the room even before the bulbs are switched on.

How It Works

An arched arm lifts the cylindrical shade clear of the artwork below and holds two E14 lamp holders angled down towards it. A thumbscrew where the arm meets the wall plate lets you set the tilt once, so the light stays trained on the picture rather than washing up the wall above it. Bulbs are not supplied, so two E14 bulbs are needed to get it working.

Where It Works Best

Built for lighting a single picture, mirror or run of prints rather than a whole room, it suits a gilt framed portrait, a large hallway mirror, or a row of prints in a dining room, anywhere a warm shine adds to the display instead of fighting it. At 36cm wide it is sized for a reasonably large piece; Elstead also makes smaller versions of the same design for narrower frames.

Are bulbs included with this picture light? No. It takes two E14 bulbs, and we would recommend LED for a cooler running temperature so close to a frame or mirror.

Can I adjust the angle of the light? Yes. A thumbscrew where the arm meets the wall plate lets you set the tilt once, so it stays trained on the picture without needing repositioning each time it is switched on.

Is this picture light dimmable? Yes, as long as you fit dimmable E14 bulbs. A non dimmable bulb will not respond to a dimmer switch.
