Elstead Philadelphia Single Small Wall Up Lantern - Old Bronze

A compact lantern, light on show

This small Philadelphia lantern faces upward, so the scroll bracket sweeps down and under the shade before it curls back on itself, and a slim finial takes the place of the usual hanging hook up top. It's a neat, upright little fitting that suits a doorway or window bay where space is tight.

Old bronze finish

The casting carries the same shells and acanthus leaf detailing as the rest of the range, in a dark old bronze that catches a coppery highlight along its raised edges. It reads as traditional rather than fussy, and settles well against most brick, stone or render.

How it works

A single E27 bulb, not included, lights the amber tinted glass from within. Because this version points upward, the light spills onto the wall above and around it rather than down onto a step or path, so expect a gentler wash of light rather than a spot to see your keys by.

Where it works best

Good for narrower porches, either side of a small front door, or anywhere you want a touch of period detail without a large fitting dominating the wall. It's the small companion to the larger up facing Philadelphia lanterns, so sizing up is easy if you later find you want more presence.
