Elstead Parish Single Down Wall Lantern - Black

There is something reassuring about a lantern that hangs below its bracket, glowing gently over a doorstep. The Parish Down Wall Lantern does exactly that, throwing its light downward so you can actually see the step, the keyhole and whoever is standing on your porch after dark.

This version comes in a deep matt black, cast in die-cast aluminium with six glazed panels around the lantern head. The finish is solid rather than glossy, which suits the traditional shape and stops it looking too shiny against brick, render or stone.

How it works

A shaped arm fixes to the wall and the lantern hangs from it, so light falls naturally down and out rather than up into your eyes. It takes a single E27 lamp, and if you fit a dimmable bulb the light output can be dimmed too.

Where it works best

Front doors, side entrances and garden gates all suit this shape well, particularly on period or cottage style houses where a plain bulkhead would look out of place. It also works nicely paired either side of a porch for a bit of symmetry.
