The Paignton mini bollard swaps the fussy lantern shapes of traditional garden lighting for something cleaner: a solid brass cylinder topped with a crossed arch of metal cradling a frosted glass diffuser. At just 300mm tall, it throws a soft, even glow along paths, steps and borders without shouting about it.

Antique brass finish

This mini bollard comes in a warm antique brass that will deepen and mellow with age and outdoor exposure, sitting comfortably against gravel, stone or timber decking. The frosted glass diffuser keeps the light soft rather than glaring, so it reads as a gentle marker rather than a floodlight.

How It Works

One E27 LED lamp (18W) sits inside the arched brass frame behind the frosted glass diffuser. The lamp isn't included, so choose one separately, and pick a dimmable option if you want it running on a dimmer circuit. It runs on Class I wiring, so have a qualified electrician handle the installation.

Where It Works Best

At 300mm tall, this is the smaller of the two heights Elstead makes the Paignton bollard in, better suited to lining a short run of steps, marking a driveway edge or dotting along a low border than lighting a long stretch of path on its own. Grouped in twos or threes at even spacing, it works well guiding the eye toward a front door or gate.
