The Orb table lamp takes a rounded glass base and pairs it with a black drum shade, giving the familiar globe shape a sharper, more graphic mood than its paler siblings. It works just as well as a single statement piece or as a pair either side of a bed.

The glass globe base sits on a foot ringed in polished nickel, with a matching collar where the stem meets the shade. The metal has a proper mirror shine rather than a brushed finish, which reads more formal against the black. The drum shade above is a faux linen fabric with a subtle woven texture, giving the black some depth rather than a flat matte black, and leaving the clear glass belly visible beneath it.

How it works

A single E27 bulb holder sits in the nickel neck, lighting the glass from within before the shade spreads the main glow outward and down. The circuit is dimmable, so fitting a dimmable E27 bulb lets you lower the light for evenings without switching it off completely; a standard bulb will simply run on and off. No bulb is supplied, so choose one to suit the fitting and your preferred dimmer setup.
