Elstead Old Bailey Single Wall Lantern - Aged Brass

A simpler shape for a solid brass lantern

The Old Bailey single wall lantern trades the diamond leaded glass seen on most coach lanterns for flat, clear panes, letting the single bulb inside do the work rather than scattering it through patterned glass.

Aged brass throughout

Cast in solid brass and finished in an aged tone, with a stepped, chimney like cap that nods to the older lantern styles the Old Bailey name borrows from.

How it works

Fit one E27 bulb (a dimmable LED if your circuit allows for it) and have it wired in by a registered electrician. Rated IP44, so it is built for genuinely wet weather rather than just light drizzle. It may need some simple assembly once it arrives, mainly settling the glass panels into place.

Where it works best

A front door, a side porch, either side of a garage, anywhere a single, honest brass lantern suits the house better than something fussier.

It is part of Elstead Lighting's Old Bailey range, based on pre-Georgian lantern designs and made by a company working out of Alton, Hampshire since 1971.
