Fixed to a curling black scroll bracket, the Norfolk single up wall lantern holds its lantern head above the arm rather than below it, so the light washes up a porch wall or gable end instead of pooling on the ground beneath.

The lantern head is cast in black aluminium with a domed cap and a pointed finial, and each of its four glass panels is built from five hand leaded sections arranged in the same diamond pattern used across the rest of the Norfolk range. Mounted on a swept scroll arm and shaped backplate, it reads as a period carriage lantern rather than a plain porch fitting.

Wire in a single E27 bulb, choosing a dimmable LED if you want the option to run it from a dimmer switch, and let a registered electrician handle the connection since Norfolk wires directly into the mains rather than plugging in.

Where It Works Best

The upward throw of light suits anywhere you want a wall lit rather than the ground beneath it, either side of a front door, spaced along a porch, or fixed either side of a garage entrance. It carries an IP43 rating for general outdoor exposure, though like most open sided lanterns it is best fitted somewhere sheltered from direct, driving rain, such as under a porch roof or eaves.
